Boron is closely related to activity of meristem. i.e. a plant tissue actively dividing cells forming new tissue. Under Boron deficiency the activity and integrity of the outer membrance of the cytoplasm of root cells is altered in such a way that the absorption of phosphorus, chloride and rubidium is reduced. Adequate Boron supply is essential for proper nucleic acid metabolism and also influences the incorporation of phosphorus into RAN & DNA Boron application can increase frost resistance in plant such as eucalyptus, princes, fruit trees and wines of all micronutrients, Boron has the narrowest range between deficiency and toxicity. What is an effective fertilizer rate for plants on one soil type (e.g. Clay) may well lead to toxicity on another (e.g. sand).
